Our Philosophy
We recognize the importance of starting from the foundations of speech and language development to treat our patients effectively , which inspires us to use a comprehensive approach to therapy. Language
Therapy Skills
Language is a channel for human connection. We use fun play based approach to treating language disorders starting from birth to age 18. Children learn best when they are enjoying therapy. We treat receptive/expressive language disorders and pragmatic delays using paralell play, recasting, expansion, sign language, PECS, and more.
Articulation &
Phonological Therapy
We use a variety of approaches to treat articulation and phonological disorders including Oral Placement therapy, Cycles, Auditory Discrimination Training and more. We believe in doing a full oral motor exam and detailed case history on every patient before evaluating speech to ensure there is a strong foundation from which to build.
Feeding
Therapy
We work with all ages to achieve optimal oral function for feeding. Some common issues are picky eating, frequent coughing while eating, frequent gagging, difficulty with a variety of textures, pocketing food, transitioning from g-tube to oral feeds, transitioning to solids, poor stamina, inefficiency with feeding, post tongue tie revision care, and more.
Orofacial
Myology
We view each patient as a whole rather than a single symptom to be treated. One of our therapists, Tammy Grass, is currently working towards a certification in Orofacial Myology through the IAOM. She is incorporating the skills she has acquired into her treatment plans and helps all of our therapists to incorporate these same principles.
